Phoebe Killdeer and the short Straws
Album: Innerquake (2011)
Phoebe is a charismatic singer with a beautiful voice. She is from Australia, former singer in the band "Nouvelle Vague".
The Short Straws are french musicians, the guitarist is excellent.
If they are coming to your town, just go!

Ravie de constater qu'elle tourne seule, je l'ai vue plusieurs fois avec Nouvelle Vague, j'avais aimé sa présence scénique.
Le style ne me surprends pas. Je vais aller écouter plus en profondeur.
Merci de me remémorer cette artiste.

Oui je l'ai vue au Café de la Danse à Paris en avril, sans doute le meilleur concert (vu qu'on aura pas la chance de voir Cat Power cette année!) et ma plus belle découverte musicale de l'année. Hâte de les revoir!

The MC5 rock! My uncle saw them play in 1968. He said the venue had folding chairs which no one sat in after the first song. He said the vibrations from their huge amount of amplifiers caused all the folding chairs to gradually move back out of their places and they were all pushed up against the back of the room by the end of the show! Rama Lama Fa-Fa-Fa!!

Great album! Did you get the vinyl or the 2 CD set that includes the full concert? There is a quote from Jim Carroll who was at the concert where he says his favorite part is the middle of the concert, when they play all these slow songs in a row. I agree, but the whole thing is awesome.

If you dont have "The Quine Tapes Vol. 1" (Which was the only volume, btw), you should pick that up too. Incredible music.
