Setlist (incomplete):
Fool
Satisfaction
He's A Mighty Good Leader
Pa-Pa Power (Dead Man's Bones cover)
Good Woman
Bully
This is the 60th performance of the year and 3rd solo performance of the year. This is the 3rd date of "Station To Station" tour that Chan performed at. Again, she is solo. She played electric guitar. This seems to be a much shorter set, than her other two performances. Her headlining set on 9/18/13 was around 45 minutes. She would later say this was her favorite of the 3 dates she played.

Parting Thoughts From Cat Power
Today Station to Station said good-bye to one of its great muses.
Since the stop in Santa Fe, Chan Marshall, who performs as Cat Power, has been entertaining audiences with acoustic sets (Santa Fe) and electric (Winslow, Barstow), but always played solo and always raw and brilliant. Marshall, who’s 2012 album Sun was one of the best records of the year, also been entertaining the train’s denizens. Hanging out during jam sessions, doling out hugs, and generally cracking everyone up. (Marshall, and her music, may be serious, but homegirl is funny. And incredibly kind.)
But once we got to LA, Marshall had to bid the train – and her crew – adieu. WIRED asked Marshall for her parting thoughts – and what she’ll remember most about the trip.
On Missing the Train:
I wish I could’ve started in New York and gone all the way. I wish we could keep going permanently. Like a collective.
On Her Favorite Train Moment:
Laying down in one of the sleeping cars looking out side, naked – you know, in my onesie. Watching the light change from light to dark. Car Number 13. Between Winslow and Barstow.
On Nerdiness:
I can do zeroes and ones until my brains explode – because I have no idea how to do it. I’d like to see what it would look like though. It would look like a pile of steaming shit. [Eds. Note: Considering she is an untrained guitar and piano player, who seems to make music just fine this seems highly unlikely.]
On Learning the Traditional Song “He’s a Mighty Good Leader,” Which She Played in Barstow, from Beck:
That’s how I know the song [from Beck’s 1994 album One Foot in the Grave]. He didn’t teach me, but I learned it from him. I’d heard it before when I was younger. I’ve been playing it for like 20 years, probably.
On Doug Aitken as a Director:
I met Doug in 2006 and we did a project together – one of his projects he had at MoMA [Sleepwalkers]. I worked with him a week or maybe two weeks in the hot and then six months later in the cold. I’d done videos back then and I hated it because there’s nowhere in the world where you’re lip-syncing you felt on camera. It’s fucking nuts. It’s not real at all. Fakest that fake can be. But with him I was playing a postal worker. He was just like, “Dude, you’re just like getting up in the morning and totally bummed. Alright, ready?” And I was like, “Whoa whoa whoa, am I bummed because I lost my job, or my dog died, or do I have AIDS? What’s going on?” And then, “I dunno, you’re just bummed.” So that was really cool because he just wants people to be in their element. But it was cool.

9/26/13 - Los Angeles Times Interview
http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/arts/culture/la-et-cm-station-to-station-20130925,0,385155.story
Cat Power, whose real name is Chan Marshall, sat patiently off to the side, waiting her turn to record. She entertained herself by picking through a box of about a dozen silver and turquoise rings she’d bought when the train passed through Winslow, Ariz.
Power has been with the train a long time, she said. “Yeah, it was 1932,” she joked in an old-timey voice. “The dust bowl, had a radio show, rolled into town ...” She ran her hands through her short, choppy blond hair in mock exasperation, her fingers now stacked with all the chunky rings in her box. “No, seriously, I came on the train in Santa Fe. Last night was my third show. But I can’t play Los Angeles because I have to get home, I have sooo much to do.”
------------------------------------
I want to hear what Chan recorded. Also, want to see the video Doug Aitken recorded.

Soundcheck:
First, Chan Marshall/Cat Power is sound checking so it looks like she might be playing tonight (yesss! we can’t get enough).
Second, when Marshall has performed so far on Station to Station, she has been using a microphone effect that sounds eerily like Auto-Tune from far away. So when she sound checks - from a few hundred feet away - there’s a moment when it sounds like she’s covering something from Kanye West’s 808s and Heartbreak. It’s fairly surreal.
Then it gets silly.
"This is a sexy song," Marshall said, strumming out a few riffs. "It’s dedicated to all of you out there who don’t get any sex."

Chan Marshall, AKA Cat Power had made a deal with Aitken that she’d only take part if she could play in the desert, and the Barstow gig was her highlight. “It was the best performance for me,” she told us the next day, sipping a beer as the train rocked its way towards LA. “It was super realistic being in the desert, there’s nothing man-made around so it liberates your subconscious. Everyone feels lighter in the magic of the desert.”
