Considering what happened last night, it's a safe bet to say that a solo tour could really happen this winter. (i'm not sure that this is good english but you get the idea, don't you?  )

10/21/13 - Glasslands, Brooklyn, NYC, "An Elliott Smith Tribute Show"

October 21 marks the 10-year anniversary of Elliott Smith's death. In commemoration, an Elliott Smith tribute has been planned at Brooklyn's Glasslands on that day. The bill includes Cat Power, DIIV's Zachary Cole Smith performing alongside Sky Ferreira, Yoni Wolf of WHY?, the Low Anthem, Here We Go Magic's Luke Temple, Rewards' Aaron Pfenning (ex-Chairlift), Marissa Nadler, Speedy Ortiz's Sadie Dupuis, Adam Schatz of Landlady/Man Man/Father Figures, the Perrenials, and Tereu Tereu. 
Some proceeds from the show will go to the Elliott Smith Memorial Fund, which benefits two youth-oriented charities: Portland's Outside In and Free Arts for Abused Children. There's also an IndieGogo fundraiser now running to raise money on behalf of Outside In. The campaign is tied to the tribute event, with rewards including a set list, a concert poster, a live recording of the benefit, and more.

Cat Power and The Cardigans are rumoured to be hitting Shanghai before the end of the year, with both acts apparently lined up as part of a multi-venue, nearly two week-long festival from Beijing-based record label Modern Sky. Exact dates and ticketing details are still being ironed out, but the two acts look set to be the main headliners for an event that will take place in both Beijing and Shanghai and will also feature returns to China for Efterklang and Club 8.

Cat Power (aka Chan Marshall) was originally scheduled to come to town in April this year for what would have been one of Arkham's first live gigs, but ultimately cancelled her entire Asian tour. It seems Modern Sky are hoping for better luck with the American singer-songwriter, who first made her name as a notoriously shy performer of retro-tinged, mostly acoustic songs. She released her latest record Sun last year, her first album of entirely original material since 2006's The Greatest, with a marked shift toward an electronica sound.

Full details of the festival haven't been officially confirmed yet, but it will encompass shows at live music venues across the city including MAO Livehouse, Qianshuiwan and the Mixing Room and run from late November 27-December 8. We'll have full line-up and ticket details as and when they're announced.

Yeah obviously and actually it always seemed strange to me because I never read about that anywhere else. Moreover, I'm not very familiar with the grammys but isn't she too indie - even if Sun entered the top ten - to perform there?

Maybe it was just a joke...

From Chan's instagram comment last night, i guess that the Weezer cruise concert won't be solo.
