I didn't realize untill Cokelike made his list of Cat Power concerts that Chan didn't play very often in France on her last tours. I wish we'll be more lucky this time!

SUN is the first new studio album in six years from Cat Power (aka Chan Marshall). Recorded over the past three years, she wrote, played, recorded and produced the entirety of SUN by herself. "Cherokee" is our first taste from the album, which is being released on September 4th. Cat Power will be performing at this year's Triple A Conference in August and this fall she embarks on a worldwide tour. Look for TV appearances this fall as well.

The big question remains: with which band? August will arrive very quickly.

I was just thinking how cool it would be if her and the new band added a new version of "Free" to the setlist. I dont think that she's ever played that live. And it might fit in well with the new material.

Big Day Out 2013 Festival

The line-up for the January festival dates will be announced on July 16. Over at this site Cat Power is rumored to be among the musicians to perform. They have alot of bands listed so who knows, guess we'll find out in a week.

I'm a bit surprised that there is no real information about the next tour yet.

Cat Power is listed among the rumored performers for the 2012 Corona Music Festival in Mexico City on 10/13+14/12. She did say her first concert would be Mexico City. The line-up is supposed to be announced on 7/25.

The tour would begin in october then?
One month after the record is released, it seems a bit late, don't you think? But maybe is she going to play a few songs on tv or on the radio before the tour?

I would love to see her complete her dream of being on Saturday Night Live. That would awesome.

I'm not 100% sure whats being said in the translated version of the article. It appears that the line-up has still not been officially announced. Yet there is a poster with Cat Power listed on it...

It's strange that there is not a word about the "triple A conference" concert anywhere on Matador web site, because this event will occur in a couple of weeks now.

I suppose that she will play a couple of songs.

Yeah, I think this is more of an industry thing for radio people than an actual concert. "Triple A" stands for adult album alternative. Still, she is listed as being a performer on one of the side stages. So it technically would be the first performance promoting the album. I wonder if she'll play solo or have the new band with her.

Tomorrow will start the Triple A conference. I wonder which day will Chan perform there. I doubt very much that'll see any footage from it but i hope we'll get a few informations like the songs she played, did she play alone or with a band, etc.
