I'll do a complete review of the show later tomorrow but i can already tell you that it was a great concert and a very cool after show. I had a very nice chat with Gregg and the girls (). Unfortunately Chan was too tired and already in her bed but it was a wonderful evening.

Re: 6/26/13 - Brussels, Belgium, Ancienne Belgique
Well, well, well... How to begin? Let's try a chronological approach...
I left home around 18:00 PM and i had 120km to drive, which was ok until i quickly encountered my first traffic jam. Would i arrive on time for the show? When i finally arrived in Brussels around 19:30, the gates had already been opened for half an hour, so i expected to be be very far from the stage...but i forgot that people in Belgium enjoy drinking beer and there were only a handful of people in the concert hall when i arrived. I chose my spot carefully: 1 meter away from the stage and in the middle of it.
The opening act was a young band from Belgium "Maya's Moving Castle". The girls were cute and their music was OK. It reminded me of "Bat for Lashes". Check it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLM2JlicbT8 .
During the opening act, i noticed that Gregg and the girls (including the young Lucia who joined the tour for this european leg) were watching from backstage.
There was absolutely no delay and Cat Power show began exactly right on time at 21:00 PM. I expected to hear "Shelter from the Storm" from Bob Dylan before they started playing but it was another song (and not from Dylan) that i didn't know that was played.
The band entered on stage first and within a few seconds after they started playing the first notes of The Greatest, Chan joined us, dressed with her black leather "CP" jacket (which is barely believable: i don't understand how Chan didn't collapse with such a heat. I was wet from the heat and i was wearing a t-shirt! Somebody in the audience couldn't stand the heat and Chan asked for the lights to be turned on until the person could be helped and Gregg and Chan gave bottles of water to her). And the magic could begin again...
Let's kill the suspense: Chan was flawless tonight. She looked very focused on what she was doing and she only had minor troubles with the sound (she wasn't satisfied at some point but we didn't notice anything from the audience). Too bad for the people who came expecting a drama... but there was probably a very few of them because there were very great vibes from the audience, with a lot of clapping and even singing, especially for Cherokee, Manhattan and Ruin.
The Greatest was very good, Cherokee ok but i was really definitely into it with Silent Machine, where Gregg was playing the guitar with Chan and it was wild. A real Rock concert, which was a change from the concert in Paris with the Dirty Delta Blues Band 2 years ago.
King Rides By: i enjoyed it a lot, it sounded way better than the videos that i saw on youtube.
The first shivers arrived not with Shivers but with Bully. Mama... As good and fun and thrilling this tour can be, i'll still need again to see a Cat Power concert where Chan's voice will be put forward one day... This is not a critic (i enjoy the band a lot), but a wish.
Nothing But Time was sung with the video with the girls biking shown on the screen at the back of the stage. It was special to see Lucia backstage listening to "her" song.
I was especially happy to hear Metal Heart for the first time in concert. God, it was good.
In fact the last 4 songs were probably my favourite moment of the show tonight. Shivers was really very good, with Chan's voice crystal clear and Gregg did a terrific solo on guitar, which allowed Chan to make a quick break backstage.
Peace and Love was wild (and so was i).
Ruin was terrific, with the crowd singing ans clapping wildly and Chan was obviously moved by what she was seeing while she was offering flowers.
I didn't catch any flower nor any sticker that Chan was throwing and i still don't understand how i ended with a setlist in my hands. :scratch:Chan threw a few of them to the audience but they fell a few meters behind me but believe me or not somehow somebody threw a setlist back from the audience and from my back and it fell on my feet. I don't believe in guardian angels but it's certainly a very strange thing that happened to me tonight and the night wasn't over yet...
I'll write what happened after the show later this afternoon...

Re: 6/26/13 - Brussels, Belgium, Ancienne Belgique
After the show, i first spotted Adeline and i congratulated her for the show, then i saw and introduced myself to Gregg who was very friendly.
He told me that it was the band who first talked to him about the forum, so thank you girls!
We talked about a lot of topics: jet lag, guitar playing, life on tour (during this european tour they are living and traveling in a bus), playing with the Dirty Delta Blues Band and playing with the new band... Then Gregg introduced me to the band as "the host of Ode to Chan forum" and i met Alianna, Nico an Annika Teresa, who were very friendly as well. We talked about the tour schedule, old habits like not using facebook and instagram and they basically sold me the idea of using instagram. Beware girls, i should be able to use it within a couple of weeks.
It felt very natural and i didn't feel out of place at all and i'd like to thank everybody in the band for their kindness.
The night would have been absolutely perfect if i had been able to meet Chan but this leaves something to do for next time!
I don't have any picture (no smartphone=no camera: when i say i'm old fashion, it's not a joke!) to prove that what i'm talking about relly occured, so you'll have to trust me.
My advice: if you want to meet the band, waiting around the tour bus might be a good idea.

Ruin
At 7:06, you can see Chan throwing the setlist and somehow bouncing back to me. That's crazy!

Congratulations! It looks like your night was close to perfect!
I also wanted to add that if it is the same song being played before every show it's Frank Ocean's "Bad Religion".

The concert appeared on dimeadozen. It seems to be a pretty good recording.
edit: it even seems to be close to perfection for a boot.
