This was the second performance of the Sun tour. The Corona Capital Music Festival ran from 10/13/12 to 10/14/12. There were 4 different stages at the festival. Cat Power performed at the "Capital Stage" on the first day at around 7PM, just before Franz Ferdinand who were the final act on that stage for the day. Also on the bill for the festival was Chan's friend M Ward.
The performance was shown on large screens during the concert and a video recording of this may have been made.

The best was to come, the American singer Chan Marshall, better known as Cat Power, occurred in one of the main scenarios to share its characteristic sound of folk, combined with touches of jazz and blues instrumentation. The singer wore a sort of poncho with the word "México" to the front, her blond hair and her caramel eyes, as well as her melancholic and sentimental vocals, hypnotized everyone.

It is a mistake to pigeonhole Charlyn Marshall in a category before seeing her live. Perhaps your recorded material tends to minimalism, more onstage, her music and vocals and grimacing acquire a multiple personality, with positively feline overtones. Bands take their name so literally? Ensarapada tricolor, drinking coffee with honey (described by herself in Spanish, to almost sighs), Chan and her musicians begin with "Bury Me", in fragile and rough interpretations all coexisting in a balance between acoustic and knobs and buttons of a synthesizer. "Here Comes The Sun" and "I Found a Reason" brought together more and more people who knew how to accompany it in each stanza; Although dissonant times and in others you jugueteaba with your own voice, Cat Power shines and resonates beyond the sum of its parts. "My heart is yours," said to start her long and progressive farewell with "Nothin" But Time ". Penultimate presentation of the first day of the CC12 onstage Capital.
-----------------------------
I dont know what to make of the "I Found A Reason" mention. Maybe the author mistook "Manhattan" for that song? Maybe Chan sang it briefly a cappella?
I really doubt the other review that mentioned Living Proof and Names. Almost certainly those werent played.

Picture And Review
(translated from Spanish)
While for strong emotions, those of Cat Power. Dressed in a poncho with the colors of the Mexican flag, a Mohawk hairdo tinted oxygenated rubio and ochenteras sunglasses, American singer-songwriter, she appeared on the main stage with a look, the less risky. Although the problem of Chan Marshall (her real name), have always been her erratic shows. And passing through the Corona Capital would not be the exception. Descentradisima and walking half way from side to side of the stage, started with 'Cherokee', the song that opens 'Sun' (2012), not too accurate album, which fell many, too many themes in a set list that was all an act of autosabotaje not to include classics such as 'The Greatest', 'Love & communication' or 'Lived In Bars'. But Marshall is one of those artists voice and magnetic presence, one of those phenomena of nature which it is impossible to gaze. Gives equal that is set to speak alone between songs or that seems on the verge of crying to the few moments of release a risotada: one always has the impression of something special, unrepeatable, living very far away from the milimetrados shows so common in large enclosures. Raruna, Yes. Only one, also.

Cat Power Seduce
Cuando the musical proposal is rich, too many Visual distractors. There is no need to use them if the music achieves its mission, when artist and audience share around an idea. Cat Power succeeded it masterfully. It seduced with ease to the public that filled the area around the Stage Capital, and as a reward obtained a concert emotional, simple, but rich in textures. With a Mexico flag attached, to the microphone stand and a jorongo with living in national colours the performer appeared ready to conquer without brandishing more guns than their songs. Her style, close to the folk even though enriched with elements of pop and rock, was enough to trap thousands. There was little interaction, some isolated acknowledgements and a couple of introductions to the songs. It seemed that, if they were not sung, the words sounded. Was time to leave issues such as Human Being and Sun to spread its magic over the people that which spell, moved to the rhythm of the chords. Without boiling, but with a constant increase in the mood of the public, the U.S. implemented cuts as It's Alright to Fail and Back in the Days, that gave shows of her versatility, to go from ballads to rock on smooth transitions. At the end of their set, little more than one hour, with the Mexican on his shoulders flag and with the same subtlety with which had arrived, Cat Power said goodbye leaving after her the certainty that the music does not require visual bombast when there is talent.
--------------------------------
Okay, now we actually have "It's Alright To Fail" being mentioned as a song played. Is this for real? That cant be... Mexican reviews are weird. Or am I crazy for thinking this cant be... Is she really playing "It's Alright To Fail" and "Living Proof" and "Names"... this cant be right.

Yes, it's puzzling!
Anybody to ask Chan or Gregg on Twitter or Instagram about that?
Re: 10/13/12 – Mexico City, Mexico, Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, "Corona Capital Music Festival"
It's got to be an error or lazy research or something like that. I just find it odd that so many songs from her past are being cited, but especially "It's Alright To Fail", which I have not heard of any live version ever being performed.
How bout this?

I watched Ruin & Cherokee: it sounded way better than what i heard from Miami. I heard less recorded voices than thursday.
The live drums are awsome and i think that we have a lot of potential there. A couple more rehearsals and concerts and it might become tremendous (and for what it worth, it could already be tremendous but it's hard to tell from youtube videos!).
