2018 Tour dates
Some new tour dates showing up recently. Here's what I've seen so far.
5/31/18 - Sydney, Australia, Sydney Opera House, "Moon Pix 20th Anniversary Concert" (with Mick Turner + Jim White)
Europe Dates:
6/2/18 - London, England, Victoria Park
6/4/18 - Turin, Italy, Hiroshima Mon Amour
9/XX/18 - Projected released date for 10th album.
US Dates (Opening for The National):
9/25/18 - Berkeley, CA, Greek Theater
9/27/18 - Philadelphia, PA, Mann Center
9/28/18 - Columbia, MD, Merriweather Post Pavilion
I'm hoping (like I am sure all of us are) that the album comes out this fall and that some more tour dates pop up to support the album. Seems likely.
I was checking out the videos posted from the recent Lana Del Rey tour dates. Pretty interesting stuff. Nice to see Cross Bones Style making regular appearances again. Although, I feel like the band could work on that one more. She was covering Lana's "White Mustang" and I saw that Lana herself was playing that song in her set. You dont see the opening band covering the headliner too often. Speaking of which, the bands version of that one is really close to "Ramblin' Woman", they are almost the same song. And the same goes for "Woman Of My Word". "Woman" had a really great band arrangement back in 2010-2011. On this tour, its almost completely morphed into "Maybe Not''. Meanwhile, "Metal Heart" continues to be played in that weird alternate chord version. Dont get me wrong, I'm all for Chan and the band changing up arrangements, keeping the songs fresh and so forth. That is one of the best things about Cat Power as a live act. But I dont think I have ever been down with the new style "Metal Heart". Wishing that one would revert back to something more familiar. So far I have only seen one video of "Wanderer" done with the band, so I cant really make much of an opinion on that. I am hoping that the definitive version of that one is on the new album.

Re: 2018 Tour dates
Also, I am totally excited about the Moon Pix Anniversary concert coming up. That is going to be incredible. I wonder if some of the auxiliary players will be there, like Belinda Woods who played flute or Andrew Entsch who played some bass. I am guessing not, but I hope the effort is made to get them there. This is such a rare chance to hear some of these songs. A number of them probably haven't been played in 15 years or more. I'm not sure that "Peking Saint" was ever played live.
Do we have anyone here on the forum going to the show????
