This is a 4 day Music Festival running from 5/30/13 - 6/2/13. Among the many performers who are appearing at the festival is Michael Hurley. Chan covered his ''Werewolf'' and ''Sweedeedee'' on You Are Free and The Covers Record, respectively. Cat Power's set due to start at 9:00pm was delayed by at least 2 hours due to weather.
An incomplete stereo 16-bit recording was made and converted to FLAC. The concert was also recorded on video in MP4 and MOV format. The times above reflect these recordings.

Just got back from the Festival. I had a great time! It was really hot out today.
I got there early. I bought Michael Hurley's CD, Armchair Boogie. I watched his set around noon and thought he was great. He included ''Sweedeedee''. Unfortunately, the collaboration of he and Chan on the same stage which I was hoping for did not happen.
Chan was due to play at 9:00 pm. The band before, Lee Fields and The Expressions started at 7:30pm. About 3 songs into their set, an announcement was made that the stage would be shut down because of heavy winds and rain coming in the area. It took over 2 hours, but thankfully this weather passed.
Finally at around 10:00pm or so Lee Fields took back to the stage and played an incredible soul/r&b set of music. I noticed Alianna and Adeline grooving to the band from the side of the stage.
Then around 11:00pm, Cat Power finally took the stage. Opened with The Greatest, Cherokee, Silent Machine, Manhattan, King Rides By, Bully, Angelitos Negros, Nothin But Time, 3, 6, 9, I Dont Blame You, Metal Heart, Shivers, Peace And Love, Silver Stallion, Ruin (will have to double check this, but think the order and songs are correct). No ''Human Being'', no ''Always On My Own'', no ''Sun'', no ''Sea Of Love''.
The band sounded great I thought. Though I noticed Chan motioning for more vocals in her mix, the sound was top-notch to me. Gregg was particularly into it, doing jumps and swinging his guitar around. Getting crazy cool screechy sounds out of his guitar for King Rides By. Metal Heart was just incredible, especially the way that she twists around those words and gives them new melodies. In fact she was really ''on'' vocally tonight for most songs, improvising all kinds of phrasings. Shivers really didnt grab me too much, finally getting to hear this one in person. Gregg's guitar at the beginning was really wild, though which I liked. Silver Stallion was really neat to hear, Chan spent some time talking to Gregg before this one, so maybe it was spur of the moment addition. Not sure how many times the new band has done this one since, 5/18/13, maybe just the once? The chorus is now played in a more kind of steady rhythm instead of the DDBB's more jazzy rhythm. Since this festival was also a giant campground, at one point Chan asked if we were all barefeet.
Near the end of her set she said thanks and that this would be a memorable night. She did her flower throwing at the end of the concert and to my surprise she singled me out and leaned down to throw a flower to me. I said, ''For me?" and she nodded, and said ''For you, for you.'' She threw it but I just caught the end of it and missed and the security guy handed it to me. After this I asked him to hand her my copy of The Greatest for her to sign. He refused (maybe their rules there) and so I threw it on the stage. Chan wrote, (heart) Love Forever Chan, and it was passed back to me. I didnt see her autograph anything else. Nico and Gregg threw some stickers of the stage to the crowd at the end too. I also bought another of the Moon Punx shirts, this one is just black and white. Overall, they are just getting better and better. Awesome show.
Pictures and more soon.

I’m not a Cat Power superfan, but I’m a fan. Chan Marshall is a treasure, and though I initially wasn’t keen on her recent sonic left turn, Sun, I came around after a few listens. But I could not get into her headlining set Friday night. Maybe it was my impatience and/or festival fatigue after waiting out the storm in my car, but her insistence on making every song as vocally unpredictable as possible coupled with her penchant for jerking her two microphones away from her face killed a lot of melodies, and her newfound diva stage persona just came off as awkward. Marshall’s backing band, who often overpowered her, didn’t help. So I meandered back to the porch to watch Screaming Females tear through a shred-filled, angsty set.
