This was the third performance of the Sun tour. After a show in Miami and an appearence at the Corona Capitol Festival in Mexico, the Sun tour is now in full flight. Cat Power will play 15 concerts in the next 3 weeks. After a break in November, touring will resume with 13 European concerts.

In her interview for Pitchfork earlier this year she said, "I have this cool guy who does really magnificent stage design. I have all these ideas. I want the show be very neanderthal sci-fi-- but I can't tell you the secret recipe yet." This was the first show of the tour (and ever I guess) to feature a stage design based on her ideas.

Our first look at the stage set-up for the tour. WOW!!

"Seriously pretty crazy to have this massive a light/stage show for Cat Power. It prompted some cognitive dissonance, for sure. The lighting was more subdued for older/more sedate songs. She did one song lit solely from behind by a single spot at stage level shining out toward the audience, so you could only see her silhouette. It was a stunning effect."

No regrets about not being able to watch her first 2 dates that look more like a warm up for the tour than the real thing now.

My guess would be "3,6,9" but a monkey would be great for any song!
All of this looks so cool. Looking forward to the Hammerstein Ballroom show. I can't believe it hasn't sold out!
