Re: Chan's Tweets
From the last instagram comments, i have the feeling that Chan is planning to play in the countries she sung about in RUIN. And if such is the case, we are screwed: not a word about France in RUIN.

Re: Chan's Tweets
I heard most of it on the radio and saw a setlist. I dont think Jay-Z even performed.

Probalby some kind of joke... and a proof of her admiration for Beyoncé's professionalism.

Hope so.. Beyoncé is so far not like her, I can't understand how Chan can take her as a model in any way.
I mean what I liked with Cat Power was the anti-star style, anti-business, and the quality of her music before all. Beyoncé is totally the opposite. (Sorry for the Beyoncé lovers )
I said "what I lik(ed)" because I fear that she is changing since "Sun" but not in the good way.

Well, i'm not sure about that. Do you mean musically speaking? If you are talking about her persona, as far as i'm concerned she looks exactly the same but with more confidence (and anger).

The fact that she refers to Beyoncé, this is just so paradoxical from her. (I know she is paradoxical!). But when I read those kind of tweets from her and listen to "Manhattan" feat. Angel Haze, I'm little skeptical about the fact that she is still the same, in her persona, and musically...

Re: Chan's Tweets
Don't forget that hip-hop is not something new for her: she has very ecclectic tastes, in fact far broader than people imagine sometime. She is very difficult to pigeonhole.

I know exactly how you feel. When Sun was released I was super disappointed. I was expecting something so different and I felt completely let down. She cut off her hair and changed up her style and she certainly is a bit of a weirdo now compared to a few years ago. I just kept telling myself that when she turned 40 that she went through a midlife crisis and this whole thing was just a phase. It was only once I saw her perform live that I really accepted Sun for what it is and realized that she is still the same woman we all love. I may not have the same connection with Sun as I do her older music, but I respect this woman and her music, so it's best to just appreciate the music she gives us. You aren't alone though in the way that you feel though, because I definitely know where you are coming from.

This is just I'm quite shocked to see Chan Marshall referring to Beyoncé, I've always seen her as an anti-star, anti-business person, as someone engaged in this way of thinking.
To talk about Sun, this is indeed not my favorite album (I don't listen to half of the songs) though there are for me some excellent songs like Manhattan and Fire.
When I was saying "she is changing since "Sun" but not in the good way" , I was thinking about she is tending to something more commercial like Manhattan feat. Angel Haze or Cherokee Nicolas Jaar remix. I hope that she won't go too far in this kind of music because she is losing the magic thing, that makes her music emotional.
