Chan's previously scheduled European Sun Tour was due to run from 11/26/12 to 12/14/12. This run of tour dates was canceled following a statement made on 11/6/12, due to financial and health issues. Despite this Chan turns up at this concert to perform on two songs.

This was an Eddie Vedder solo concert. Chan made an appearence at the concert to duet live with Eddie Vedder for the first time, on "Tonight You Belong To Me", which she had recorded with him for his 2011 release, "Ukulele Songs". She also appeared near the end of the show to sing backing vocals, with Eddie's guest Glen Hansard, on "Hard Sun" from the "Into The Wild" soundtrack.

Following Eddie's cover of Chan's "Good Woman" (which he had sang backing vocals on for its release on You Are Free), Eddie introduces Chan. “I am very happy she is here tonight and please treat her with respect – the great Chan Marshall.”

An audience recording surfaced soon after. My copy is mp3, though the sound quality is excellent. The timing above reflects the Chan-related parts of this recording.

Ooh Sab, I know this feeling, saturday night at Hamburg, no Cat Power at Grosse Freiheit, so sad too...

Now I'm quite angry toward Chan... She could tell a word about that European tour, this is quite shocking seeing her on stage at the same time she should have been singing at another place and I don't appreciate what she tells on twitter about the australian tour, that she will be here etc... with not even a word about the european one. I don't understand this silence.

Je pense comme Nico qu'elle ne s'est sûrement pas rendue compte dans sa volonté de réaffirmer son engagement et sa venue auprès du peuple australien et néo-zélandais que nous, pauvres petits européens lésés et tristes, lisions ses tweets... Enfin, bref, tout ça pour dire: Chan!!! On est là! Des daaaaaaaates!

It was great to see Chan singing Tonight You Belong To Me with Eddie for the first time live!
It was a pity she didnt do Good Woman with him this time though. However, Eddie made a great introduction to it by saying: " it's not all the time that a song hits you in such a way..." and also that Good Woman was incredibly important to him, something to lean on like "hanging on to a tree in a hurricane". An amazing statement for this deeply emotional song.
